Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Markets in Saldus and Brocēni
The holiday season in Saldus will begin with the annual Christmas tree lighting at the Oskars Kalpaks’ square on 10 December.
On this day, a Christmas market will be held in the town centre, and from 1 pm until 7 pm everyone is welcome to enjoy the festive atmosphere, taste seasonal treats and find delightful Christmas gifts from local artisans.
To keep children entertained, they will have the opportunity to enjoy an amusement train ride. Tickets will be available on the day at Saldus Tourist information centre and will cost 3 EUR.
The glass cabins will also return to the Kalpaks’ square for the holiday season. One of them will be turned into a photo booth to create wonderful memories with friends and family. In the second cabin free creative workshops will be available to visitors from 2pm until 8.30 pm on 10 December.
From 5pm visitors will be treated to musical performances.
We are pleased to announce that Santa’s workshop will be open again this year at Striķu Street 2A, next to the central square. From 10 December until Christmas visitors will be able to meet Father Christmas and participate in various activities organized by his helpers. Entrance fee: 1 EUR per person (free for children under 1 year old).
In Brocēni town, the main Christmas tree will be located at the market square. The tree lighting will take place on 9 December.
At 4pm the Christmas market will be open for visitors offering locally produced handmade crafts, treats and gifts. At 6pm the tree will be lit and musicians Lauris Valters and Jānis Miltiņš will perform.
From 7.30 pm until 9 pm everyone is welcome to enjoy ice skating at Brocēni Ice Hall.
Santa’s workshop will be located at Skolas Street 4 and will be open to visitors until 25 December.
