As of October 1, Saldus Tourism information centre is returning to the winter season opening hours and will be open for visitors Monday to Friday from 8:00 till 17:00. On Saturdays and Sundays tourism information centre will be closed.
In order to develop and promote nature tourism in the border regions of Latvia and Lithuania, the Saldus municipality participated in the project, which led to the construction of a new bird – watching tower by Sātiņi ponds.
Since 1982 there is a maple leaf shape sluice situated on the river Ezere in Saldus district. The Dzirnavu pond that was created on Ezere river at the end of the 19th century is currently the largest water body in the parish.

On the 17th of March an unprecedented event takes place in Saldus – the great Rozentāls’ Running Festival 2018, a running competition named in honour of the famous Latvian artist Janis Rozentāls, whose 152nd birthday is celebrated this year.
From the 2nd of February till the 20th of March Saldus tourist information centre offers a new exhibition “Winter Tones” (“Ziemas toņi”) – paintings by J. Rozentāls’ group of artists in Saldus.
